Tripletail Wrasse displaying its intricately detailed markings, its eye appearing almost 3D as it gazes out over the reef. Tripletail Wrasse are often difficult to approach as they are a wary, solitary fish. Their name reflects the fact that adults develop three lobed caudal fins. Overall, wrasse are a large and diverse family of fish, the majority of which are brightly coloured with intricately detailed markings. Wrasse are typically small fish, although there are a few larger species such as the Tripletail Wrasse.
