Sunda Flying Lemur. Found throughout Southeast Asia, the Sunda Flying Lemur does not actually fly, but glides as it leaps among trees. Flying Lemurs are mostly active at night - during the day they find a convenient rainforest tree to cling onto and rest. They are shy, gentle creatures, spending nocturnal hours feeding on soft plant parts such as young leaves, shoots, flowers, fruits and sap. Despite a life spent in trees, they are awkward climbers, ascending trees by making small jumps and gripping the bark with their claws.

Colugo (Flying Lemur) with a baby peeping out from its mothers pouch, curiously surveying the world below him whilst still safely tucked away. There are only two living species of Colugo, the Sunda Flying Lemur and the Philippine Flying Lemur. Colugos spend the vast majority of their life within trees. They have a thin membrane which extends between their limbs. This wing like membrane gives them the ability to glide up to 70 metres between the branches of trees. However they cannot fly and are not actually considered to be true lemurs.
