Striated Surgeonfish feeding on the reef surrounded by delicate button polyps (zoanthus coral) and a variety of other corals in beautiful soft colours and textures. Striated Surgeonfish feed on fine detrital material. They whisk the sand and rocky materials from the corals with their teeth and then use suction to draw out small fragments of algae, organic materials and fine sediment.
