Sabre Squirrelfish are the largest of the Squirrelfishes, they spend their days hiding under ledges or reef outcrops, emerging at night to feed. Another feature of the Sabre Squirrelfish is its very long preopercle spine (near the gill opening), which is highly venomous (hence the common name Spiny Squirrelfish).
