Oriental Pied-hornbill ensconced on a leafy perch high up within the rainforest canopy, a perfect position from which to view the rainforest below. Hornbills generally prefer forested areas, nesting high up in trees and occasionally cliffs. The large size of Hornbills mean they play an important role in the rainforest, feeding mainly on fruits from rainforest trees and dispersing seeds from fruits that are too large for smaller birds to eat.

Oriental Pied-hornbill ensconced on a leafy perch high up within the rainforest canopy, a perfect position from which to view the rainforest below. Hornbills generally prefer forested areas, nesting high up in trees and occasionally cliffs. Due to the large size of Hornbills (around 70cm), they play an important role within the rainforest. They feed mainly on fruits from rainforest trees and disperse seeds from fruits that are too large for smaller birds to eat. Oriental Pied Hornbill (Anthracoceros albirostris).
