Indian Longnose Parrotfish swooping down to nibble on corals near the bottom of the reefs edge. Voracious feeding prevents algae from choking corals. The teeth of Indian Longnose Parrotfish continuously grow to replace the material worn away by feasting on the hard corals. Parrotfish resemble parrots both with their vibrant coloration and beak like teeth which they use to rasp algae from corals & rocky outgrowths.
